SGT Wineries & Vineyards

  • Wineries

A winery is a commercial operation focused on the production and sale of wine. While a residence might exist on the winery’s property, the primary emphasis is on operational buildings, cellars, tasting rooms, vineyards, and other areas designed to engage with consumers.

  • Vineyards

A vineyard is a piece of land primarily dedicated to the cultivation of grapevines. Vineyards can vary in size and purpose, ranging from smaller family-owned estates where grapes are grown for private wine production or sale to larger commercial vineyards that produce grapes on a larger scale, often for sale to wineries.

In smaller vineyards, the grapes may be used for the family’s private wine label, or they can be sold to larger wineries. These vineyard owners may have relatively small production volumes, typically around 200 cases or fewer, and may distribute their wines through wine clubs or local “Direct-To-Consumer” sales. Smaller wine brands like these rarely have their private tasting rooms or other hospitality elements.
